KOM Software announces support for DG-UX on Aviion Systems

Ottawa, ON Canada – March 11, 1994

KOM Software is pleased to announce the availability of their OptiFile® II and OptiServer® II products for Data General Aviion™ series computer systems running DG-UX™. The product will be available to customers by March 31, 1994.

OptiFile II is intended to provide the transparent integration of rewritable, WORM and multi-function optical disk drives in 3.5", 5.25", 12" and 14" formats. Each disk appears to the operating system to be a magnetic disk drive, regardless of the type of media used.

OptiServer II is intended to provide the same level of transparent integration for jukeboxes (autochangers) of optical disk drives in 5.25", 12" and 14" formats. Each optical volume within the jukebox appears to the operating system to be a logically mounted magnetic disk drive.

OptiFile® and OptiServer® are also available for RISC/Ultrix workstations and AXP/OSF-1 systems from Digital Equipment, SPARC based systems from Sun Microsystems running SunOS, SPARC Intel based systems running Solaris 2.x, and HP 9000/8xx series systems from Hewlett-Packard running HP-UX.

OptiFile and OptiServer are also available for Digital Equipment's VAX, MicroVAX, VAXstation and Alpha AXP computer systems running the VMS or OpenVMS operating sytems.
